Sell Your House for free!

Image
Tags: Denmead House , Sell your house Free Finally someone realised that this house selling lark needn't cost thousands to sell your home, in fact you can do it for free. The Fabulous people at privatehousemove.co.uk will display your home on their site for an extremely reasonable no pounds and no pence. Its so and the houses are extremely well priced too, take for example this rather attractive 3 bed I stumbled upon. Situtated in Denmead, probably the most sort after village in the Waterlooville area. With ample parking for 3 cars plus a garage, you'd be crazy to over look this oppotunity.

Okopipi Die Spam Die

Image
Tags: Okopipi , Blue Frog , Anit Spam " Okopipi Die Spam Die" Sounds like the title from some dodgey black and whitet eastern european film, but Okopipi is an Anti Spam project. The project was born out of the ashes of the Blue Frog project ( Okopipi is a a type of poision dart from frog or something) the blue frog project, who produced a peice of software that sent spam to spam servers. The blue frog project died is a spectacular DDOS attack. Any way are starting to right a serverless ( p2p ) client that will spam the spammers. w00t indeed!

Xbox 360 Media Extender

Image
Tags: xbox 360 , media center extender , XVID So last night I rebuilt my PC with Media Center Edition, somthing I have been putting off for some time. Due to the epic nightmare it always turns out to be. Antics that followed : Discovered didn't have the drivers around for my SATA raid controller Found drivers Realised Cant install them from USB device as Windows will only look for them on A: drive Spend 20 minutes looking for a floppy disk Find floppy disk to find my floppy drive wont format it ( probably has had a strop through lack of attension Think Stuff it ill use the SATA 133 controller instead of the SATA 150 ( morale you can never have enough controllers on the mother board ) All is well windows installs in record time ( about 10 minutes, despite telling me at the start this was going to last 39 minutes). So I have got MCE up and running and immediately install the Xbox Media Center Extender software so I can connect my Xbox 360. This install takes quite an ...

Xbox 360 Hacked

Image
Tags: Xbox 360 , Xbox 360 hacks , firmware hack , dvd hack Xtreme Firmware , Have just released details of a new firmware for the Xbox 360 TS-H943 ( toshiba ) DVD drive. The new firmware fools the xbox into thinking all discs have the 360's Disc protection. So this allows it to read "backups". Details found here the download has already been removed, but I'd expect it on #xbins within hours.

As it appear no one makes a proper ultra compact digital camera anymore dammit.

We are Driving gods

Image
Tags: Go Karting , Driving Gods , w00t On Saturday 10 of us wen go karting for my 30th. Having the oppotunity to split the group in to two groups. I immediately grabbed my self the people I thought would be fasted round the track ( and Marc ). To our shock and surprise we confimed what we had all secretly suspected that we are all in fact Driving gods!. In the 2 hour endurance there were 12 teams. From the rolling start we we're in 9th position ( being Kart No.9 ), but within 6 laps we were first, and the adrenaline started to pump. By the end of the race our team took the fastest lap 3 times ( me, nav then me again ). Marcus to my shock was extremely quick. So naturally we finished 2 laps in front. Though this could of been a different story, as in the final laps i got some dodgey signalling from Marc showing me two fingers ( in an informational, not abuse way ) trying to indicate to me that we were 2 laps ahead. I took this to mean we we're in second place, and changed to my ...

Googletalk Status

Image
Thought I'd post re how I got the Google talk status thingy working on the side bar. This was stupidly simple ( after excessive googling that is ). Its easy because of a guy called Nathan Fritz has written a jabber bot called Edgar . The bot adds its self to your Googletalk contacts list, ( this is so it has visibility of your status ) then you can query the PHP status script at the Edgar site. i.e. for my side bar I have just added the code ( can you call it code ? ) below : <li>Someone<b><?php readfile("http://edgar.netflint.net/status.php? jid=someemail@gmail.com/talk&type=text"); ?></b></li>

Mini Problem finished?

Image
Tags: BMW Mini , Poor BMW Service , Snows BMW ...... And continue it does a bit more. So today I got a call from one of the managers at snows , to tell me that BMW had agreed to extend the TLC on the mini so that the new engine gets the three years servicing we paid for it from new. This is good news, though really the least they could do. The new engine is in the mini and appears to be doing all the things a engine should minus all the knocking noises it shouldn't. This is good, from this whole process I have had to liaise with BMW customer service and Snows BMW Customer service quite frequently. BMW them selves come across as a very reasonable bunch, who we're obviously trying to help. Snows on the other hand, portrayed your typical bunch Swiss Tony types. They we're completely uninterested in helping, they lied to me and Sarah out right on several occasions about what was and what had happened the mini. I have since spoken to colleagues with BMW's re Snows, a...

Sky HD to be all 1080i

Image
Tags: SKY HD , SKY + , HD TV , HD 1080i EXCLUSIVE: Sky changes mind and announces 1080i for all its HD broadcasts So whos bought a 720p only tele then? :P "Having originally stated that it would likely use a combination of 720p and 1080i high definition formats on its new HD platform, Sky has just exclusively revealed to us that it's now intending to broadcast all of its Sky HD channels in the 1080i format from launch. It will be interesting to see how this surprising decision works out when it comes to showing sports footage, which is widely thought to look better in 720p because of its high motion content. The 1080i decision also lends a little - though it really is only a little - more credibility to the scare story run in the Daily Mail a few weeks back suggesting that the 720/768-line TVs that currently make up the vast majority of the TV market aren't completely ideal for getting the best from the available (1080i) HD signals. Another interesting fact we discovered d...
