Nokia Series 40 iSync plugin post

Deprecated go HERE

Background

Nokia iSync PluginsI have used a script I have written to generate an iSync Plugin (MetaClasses.plist) for getting your nokia series 40 phone to work with iSync 2.4 and iSync 3.0

This script has been tested on a number of nokia mobiles and proven to work, other series 40 phones, if you download a plugin and find try it out please add a comment with your findings so we can keep everyone upto date.

These plugins will only work when connecting your mobile Via bluetooth!

note: Where better plugins have become available I have replaced my plugin with a link to the relevant external site (good example being the 6500 Classic).

Tested Nokia Isync Pugins

These are the plugins that are known to work thanks to all who posted comments on the priginalblog post and this page

as yet untested Nokia Isync Pugins

if you use a plugin and you find it works please post a comment and let us know!

  9. Maybe it's because Nokia 5310 is a S40 5th edition ?

  17. Just tried the script for a 6275i and it didn't work. The script didn't seem to function correctly, though. When I chose 6275i from the drop-down and hit the button, the code it spit out had no model number in the added part at the end of the file. Snippet below (square brackets sub'd for angle brackets):

    [dict]
    [key]Identification[/key]
    [dict]
    [key]com.apple.cgmi+cgmm[/key]
    [string]Nokia+Nokia [/string]
    [key]com.apple.gmi+gmm[/key]
    [string]Nokia+Nokia [/string]
    [key]com.apple.usb.vendorid-modelid[/key]
    [string]0x0421/0x045A[/string]
    [/dict]

  25. Works acceptably with the 7900 Prism, with some anomalies that might be attributable to buggy 1st generation Nokia firmware, such as crashes. Thanks very much for making the script available.

Has anyone tried the updated script with the 5310 yet ? My wife is looking at this phone, but I'm not letting her have it until it works with iSync :)

  29. The Nokia 6030 doesn't have Bluetooth, and your older post says that the script doesn't work with a USB cable. Did you get it working via USB?

  33. Thanks for all the work you've done on this, and for making it available. I could not, however, get this to work with the 6165 - isync said "this device is not supported by isync".

I used your script to generate a new plist file, replaced the plist file per your instructions, paired my phone with my mac via the Bluetooth panel in system prefs, launched isync and tried to add it as a device. Did I miss anything?

In any event, thanks for doing all this! :)

  39. Just got a hold of the 6500 Slie and it doesnt seem to work. I replaced the file both by deleting its contents and pasting in your script and by saving it as a plist file and swaping them around but neither seems to work. Have other Nokia 6500 Slide users found this script doesn't work or am i being silly and missing something here...?

    Thanks
