Now I have my new laptop with its 8600M GT graphics card, its only natural that I will want to stretch my gfx card legs by playing Quake 2 at 750+ FPS. Isn't it! becuase of this Darren has built a proper Q2 server accessible on the electric interweb.  The server can be found quake2://kungfudazza.game-server.cc:27910 and is running lithium so has the grapple hook.

K COD5 "World at War" Arrived today making a mochery of the release date this Friday. Which is often the case with stuff preordered from Play.com. However when you go into mutliplayer and it tells you theres about 200,000 other people playing two days before the release, any way.

For some time now I have looked upon the wireless multi-room audio solution from Sonos with envious eyes. Mentally purchasing most of their offering many times over. However today by chance I spotted that my setup is better than their offering and a lot cheaper.

Oddly the same day I post my MacBook pro to it's lucky new owner:(. My 2g iPhone arrives in the post. Bit of an inplanned purchase this, bought in a shock eBay bargain moment. I wanted to replace my BT Anywhere HTC620 because as I have said before Windows mobile is terrible. Anyway once I had my new iPhone all I had to do was upgrade it to 2.1 and unlock it. This turned out to be slightly more fiddly than the interweb will have you believe.

I have decided I want to create a theme that integrates with bbpress, why I'm not entirely sure as dont have a real need for a forum here. Anyway I started with a web template from Solucija called Website Traffic . I have a slight problem at the moment in that i know there is an issue with the Category images in IE,  however dont have IE on my laptop a it has working Browsers on it instead (handbags).

Ok, so my Xbox RRod'd not so long ago and I stuck my finger up to Xbox and turned to my PS3 which, turned up the same day my xbox died ( conincidence ?). Much happy PS3 time later ( COD4 is deffinately better on the xbox mind :( ) anyway my PS3 dies! So I have upgraded my laptop, to a Dell M1530 XPS which is very nice and very quick. I gave vista another shot as it came with a copy, naturally I blew away all the cack it came with.  My vista experience lasted a full week before the whole thing started to pause for about 10 seconds when I was in heavy applications such as notepad. After googling and going through a number of suggested solutions, all of which ended in BSOD, i formatted and put Tiny XP on.

I have had an unusually high number of Emails / Comment regarding phpadadmin recently.  Which has been quite refreshing to think people are still using it (or trying to).   Conincidentnally the domain phpadadmin.com is about to lapse which, I'm going to let happen. I'm going to start phpadadmin up again and this time utilise the adLDAP project instead of my own AD class.

Today has been so far great!. My new laptop charger has arrived for my macbook pro so i can use it instead of my Dell D620. Should note there is nothing really wrong with the Dell D620, its just not as great as the macbook, annoyingly one of those things all the mac vs pc reviews find it harder to put into words, the mac is just better for many reasons i cant really think of.

At the beginning of the week I started to create my own wordpress theme using the blueprint framework. Towards the end of this week, that theme is on its second version and has had a complete rewrite from scratch. The whole process has made me love Wordpress even more than I did, and now with blueprint all "FFS! its broken in IE again" woes have gone

I have been playing with the wordpress templates or sometime, and have created several from scratch, with varying levels of success. I created this one with the blueprint css framework, last one i did with 960.gs. This seems to be working much better. Currently getting irratated by Microsoft's stupid browsers. Role on IE8 which is standards compliant. Will try and get some of the IE problems sorted, (may be, probably not).

The Escapist is a game focused tech E-zine. Erm do people say E-zine anymore? You know when you work out what your going to write then half way through you panic. Erm so The Escapist is a game focused tech magazine that I'm currently reading quite a lot. I started out just watching the Zero Punctuation Voblog column which is written/performed by a brit named Yahtzee , very awesome though his gaming is completely the to opposite to mine in that he ignores the multiplayer and concentrates on the campaign yawn fest. Where as I now own COD4 on two platforms and still havn't bothered to complete the single player.

Background A couple of days ago, I took delivery of my PS3 a wonderful piece of kit that does 99.9% of the things my xbox 360 does. The PS3 purchase was mainly so I have the ability to play Blue Ray discs and also to be able to play GT5.

I have been writing an article on, how to be a lazy administrator for a while now. Its basically some lessons I learnt on how to manage your time more effectively, so that ultimately one person can look after a fairly large and complex environment. Its interesting how most of maps directly on to my new Capability manament role, ( that level of interesting is entirely relavtive, I think it is!).

Had a little problem with not being able to read in SQL in from a file and execute it earlier. Solved the problem, turns out php doesnt like executing more than one line of SQL at once so barfs at the ;. So i have exploded the SQL into an array using the ; as the delimeter.

I have been at work, sorting out a Share Point restore for one of our customers. I started off having no clue about SharePoint, and now feel slightly enlightened. Points of note: SharePoint Portal When installing make sure you create your portal before applying SP1 (STS & SPS) else you may get the "Invalid configuration" on your valid configuration. Whilst the invalid configuration error is present in the SPS administration pages you CANNOT perform restore.

Just an update. Not long now, getting very annoyed with it now.

Day, erm I don't know how long we've been doing this I'm back from the antarctic ( it is the antarctic that has penguins ?). Wife annoyance is turning into apathy, apathy accompanied by little physical contact. Face is annoying the crap out of me, even had to purchase a beard trimmer. Not a lot going on over here, currently at work I have been seconded in to do a major SharePoint recovery as the in house expert hadn't managed it. I dont know what to think about the fact I know nothing about SharePoint and was able to spot the issue in 2 days what had previously taken 3 weeks to get no where.
