Tivo Series 3
Tags: Tivo, Tivo Series3 Another Groovey piece of kit just recently revealed at CES is the Series 3 Tivo. The Series 3 naturally has HDTV support ( proper 1080p i shall rant no more on this). It will still encode analogue Video to Mpeg 2 but has the capability of Mpeg 4 playback (AVC/H.264 etc ). The Remote has been slightly updated, importantly the drive inside are now SATA, and if you look carefully at the picture of the back you'll spot an external SATA connection for simple upgrades (no more faffing around in Linux).
Outputs include HDMI, Component Video, S-Video, and Composite Video and Optical output for all your dolby digital out requirements.
One small other thing Brits wont be getting it. Unless Sony and Philips actually produce it like they said they would the series 2 in 2004 ( grrr)
